Jess and Ben

I thought I had the stomach bug all day. Was having some GI cramps and needing to use the bathroom a lot. Didn’t realize I was in labor until I was in transition. Hit me like a ton of bricks! Called our birth team, and they were there within 20 minutes. Nicole rubbed my back, Sarah set up the pool, my doula Danielle reassured me and offered me water and a cold cloth on my neck. My water broke in the kitchen, a huge splash like you see in the movies. I felt so much pressure, felt like my pelvis was going to break. I knew I needed to push past that, but I did not want to push. The tub was finally ready, and wow the relief of the water was a godsend! Had a small lull in my contractions once I got into the water but they picked back up pretty quickly. My baby was born pretty soon after! I was shocked at how fast it all went!
